The Prophecy[]
At the time of Starbrow's Rebellion, the Ernalda Priestess on the council had a vision... hundreds of pregnant women should go off into the wilderness, and hide, until "The Hero Who Would be Revealed" reached manhood.
Menopause and ridicule followed, but as Lunar forces retook Boldhome, she, now a priestess of Asrelia, the Grandmother, Mistress of the Wealth in the Ground, led a group of twenty pregnant women, and a few loyal followers, into the wastes to found a stead.
The children of that first group who followed the Vision now approach adulthood; they will be fifteen Holy Times this year. Only eight of the children survive, not bad odds considering. The gods will soon claim their own, and with the claiming, provide a chance for the soon men and soon women to grasp destiny, and claim a future of resisting and freeing Sartar from Lunar oppression. The Vision still holds; the shield man of the Liberator will be born, and emerge from the small village of Vision Stands to find the Prince Who Was Promised, and make the moon go dark, forever.
